All eight cars
The Garage in Drift Boss has eight cars. You start with the Rookie, and the other seven are unlocked with the coins you collect on the road. Here is the full list with prices:
| Car | Price | Look |
|---|---|---|
| Rookie | Free | A friendly sky-blue car with a white roof, the one every player starts with |
| Cherry Coupe | 100 coins | A low cherry-red coupe with a black roof, chrome side strips and a small ducktail spoiler |
| Lime Hatch | 200 coins | A short lime-green hatchback with a roof rack |
| Sunset Pickup | 350 coins | An orange pickup with a pink side stripe, an open cargo bed and a roll bar with lamps |
| Night Cab | 500 coins | A deep indigo taxi with a yellow checker stripe, yellow rims and a glowing roof sign |
| Ice Racer | 750 coins | A white racer with ice-blue panels, a rear wing and a cyan underglow |
| Thunder Muscle | 1,000 coins | A charcoal muscle car with twin yellow stripes and a hood scoop |
| Gold Boss | 1,500 coins | A gold car with a black roof, side vents, a black rear wing and a golden underglow |
Unlocking every car costs 4,400 coins in total.
Cosmetic only: every car drives the same
This is the most important thing to know about the Garage: the cars only change how you look, not how you drive. Every car has the same speed, the same turning rate and the same drift. The Gold Boss will not take corners better than the Rookie, and the Rookie is not a handicap.
There is no "best" car and nothing you have to buy to beat your own records. Pick the car you enjoy looking at for a few hundred corners.
How coins work
Coins float above some of the road tiles. Drive through one and it is added to your coins:
- A single coin is worth +1.
- A coin stack is rarer and worth +5.
- The coins you pick up during a run are shown in the HUD and on the game over screen; your total is on the start screen.
- Coins are saved between runs, so every run adds to your total, even a short one.
Coins sit on the road itself, so the best way to collect more is simply to drive farther. The tips page has advice on longer runs.
Buying and selecting a car
Open the Garage from the start screen or from the game over screen. You can browse all eight cars with a rotating 3D preview, including the ones you have not unlocked yet, and see the price of each.
- Buy. If you have enough coins, buy the car. The price is taken from your coin total and the car is yours to keep.
- Select. Choose any car you own to drive it in your next runs. You can switch between owned cars as often as you like, at no cost.
Buying is a one-time payment in coins. There are no upgrades and nothing to buy with real money.
A sensible order
Since all cars handle the same, the order is entirely up to you. If you have no favourite yet, a simple plan works well:
- Start with the cheaper cars, the Cherry Coupe and the Lime Hatch. They come quickly and give you some variety early on.
- Then save for the car you actually like most, instead of buying every car in price order.
- Leave the Gold Boss for last. At 1,500 coins it is a long-term goal for regular players.
Second Chance costs coins too
Coins have a second use. Once per run, after a fall, you can pay 30 coins for a Second Chance and continue from the last tile you were on. If you have fewer than 30 coins, the offer does not appear.
So every Second Chance you take delays your next car a little. Neither choice is wrong: a Second Chance can save a record run, while a new car is something you keep. Many players keep 30 coins in reserve at all times and spend the rest in the Garage. The how-to-play guide explains Second Chance in detail.
What happens if site data is cleared
Your coin total, the cars you own and the car you selected are saved in your browser on the device you play on, together with your best distance and the sound setting. There is no account and no copy on our server.
This means that if you clear your browser's site data for DriftBoss.game, play in a private window, or switch to another browser or device, you start again with the Rookie and zero coins. We cannot restore lost progress, because we never receive it. If your cars matter to you, avoid clearing the data for this site.
